WARCRAFT 2: TIDES OF DARKNESS
After the success of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, Blizzard Entertainment decided to create a more ambitious sequel. The first game had already laid the foundations for the RTS (real-time strategy) genre, but it had technical and design limitations that the team wanted to overcome.

The development was led by figures such as Allen Adham, Ron Millar and Chris Metzen, the latter being key to expanding the story and universe of Warcraft.

When it was released in 1995, Warcraft 2 was a critical and commercial success. It became one of the most influential RTS games of its time and cemented Blizzard's status as one of the major developers. Furthermore, its expansion, Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal, further expanded the story and content.
